SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING TFS ON A FILE SERVER ((MG Mode Only)) If you have a networked computer system at your facility, you may want to install TFS so all data is on the main file server. TFS is composed of an application file and one or more database files. The database files can reside on the server, however each workstation running TFS, needs the application file. All workstations will be linked to and access the same database. However, if one user is accessing certain TFS database tables those tables will be read only for any other users. In addition, there are 4 levels of password protection. The TFS Database Administrator may determine what level of access each workstation has depending upon the user's authorized function. For network installations each workstation will require a conventional TFS installation. Once the data files are installed on the server, the local folder C:\TFS4\DataGroups can be deleted.
